BEFORE use
Before using the frying pan for the first time, rinse it with warm water and detergent and then dry it thoroughly.
DURING use
When using the pan for the first time, you should use vegetable or corn oil. This will ensure that the bottom is well covered. Heat the oil gently and turn the pan so that the sides are also covered with the oil. Remove the pan from the heat and let the pan cool. Once the pan has cooled, clean the pan with kitchen paper.
Also make sure that the hob has the right size for the pan. If this is not done, the induction hob will not be able to 'recognize' the pan.
When cooking with salt, make sure that the salt does not come directly onto the stainless steel base. Instead, add it to boiling water or to the food. Also, always leave 5cm of space above the pan, when using an oven or grill.
When you are cooking and you need a spatula, do NOT use a metal spatula, but rather a silicone, wooden or plastic spatula, because otherwise it will leave scratches and marks on the frying pan. You can easily lift the lid of the pan (up to 260 degrees), because of the heat-resistant knob. It is advisable to cook at medium or low temperature for the best cooking result. Heat the frying pan gradually. If you do need to use high heat, that is still possible, but you should immediately lower the heat when the desired temperature is reached.
Please note: Never slide the product over a glass hob/stove. This can damage the bottom of the frying pan and the glass plate. Instead of sliding, it is best to lift the frying pan.
AFTER use: Maintenance tips and recommendations
Clean the Le Creuset Signature Frying Pan by wiping all residue from the base and sides. Do not put the frying pan in the dishwasher or immediately pour cold water into the pan. This can damage the pan. For burnt-on food on the base, fill the frying pan with warm water and dishwashing liquid and let it soak for 15 to 20 minutes. You can then use soft cleaning cloths to further clean the frying pan. Do not use abrasive cleaning agents or brushes on the surface. After washing, dry the frying pan thoroughly and store in a dry place. For optimal use, we recommend using this product according to the instructions and maintaining it regularly.
Use suitable protective material when stacking the pans.
